Logitech Gaming Mouse vs DOTA 2

Logitech G403 Prodigy Gaming Mouse:

When I started writing about technology and gaming a few years ago, I always looked to people like theTechieguy and TechGirl for inspiration on how to write about products that I thought you’d struggle to write about. I mean, for goodness sake people, it’s a gaming mouse.

G403 Mouse Features:

Weight System:

The Logitech G403 Prodigy Gaming Mouse is such a device, it’s a basic entry level gaming mouse, providing a multitude of entertaining and engaging RGB colour displays and a weight for better scroll and traction on games like CS:GO or DOTA2.

Trying out the device on a DOTA2 challenge, I realised that there is some difference between using and not using the weight. It’s not the end of the world if it doesn’t have one, but, it’s a nice feature that adds to your gaming experience.

Wireless Experience:

Like everything in my Logitech G experience this month, everything is wireless. Playing at an average 100 MPS, my brother (Warren Magill) and I found the mouse easy to use and no problem to link up to both his gaming PC and my tower. It’s easy and with very little fuss, unlike my experience with the Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset.

The overall experience is seamless and gives a great response when playing high movement rate games like DOTA or CS:GO.

Hand Comfort and Feel:

I feel that the Logitech G403 Prodigy Gaming Mouse was great! It seemed to work better for Warren’s playing style, who once used a mouse smaller than your average jawbreaker.

Personally, I found the mouse a degree too small, but nothing that would cause a problem for me when gaming.

I did accidentally press the right side buttons from time to time, but nothing that would effect my overall gaming experience when using the mouse.

In terms of comfort, because of it’s simple and sloped design, there’s no wrong way to grip the device, as I find in versions of the DeathStalker GX Gaming mouse, which has a specific way of gripping and holding the device. The Logitech G403 Prodigy Gaming Mouse has none on of those problems and I feel it’s a great simple mouse that any gamer can pick up today and use.

Buttons and Programming:

Anyone that is worth their eSports salt knows how important it is to customise your buttons for quick moves and actions. The buttons on the Logitech G403 Prodigy Gaming Mouse are simple and easy to program once installed on your rig.

The Mouse 3 button is comfortable for me and gives me the feeling that I’m actively using the scroll rather and too smooth and no response at all.

Besides the right side buttons being used accidentally now and then, they were a major concern as the design of the mouse itself lets you adjust your hands to fit the device without much change in gameplay or performance.

Overall, this is a great entry level gaming mouse, I wouldn’t mind keeping around. Unlike other gaming brands which focus on complex design purely for awesomeness, the Logitech G403 provides a simple and yet functional design. It’s usable for most games, but it seems to feel better for shooters, which makes sense because there’s less to get in your way when moving or aiming; it’s simple.

Price: R1499

The going rate for the Logitech G403 Prodigy Gaming Mouse is roughly R1499, which can be found at your local online stores. I prefer the spec on Evertech here: (Online shop)
